Blah I either need to stop apologizing for not writing journals very often or just write journals more often blah
That didn't really make much sense.
Well.
Anyhow! Summer has officially begun for me (technically it would have begun the afternoon of April 24th, but I had to go back to school for an "intensive learning term" that's required for all majors from May 10th through May 29th, and then immediately following my last class that week I got scooped up and whisked away to Michigan to visit family up there for a hot minute; I just got back from that laaaaate Wednesday night (the 3rd) so now I'm finally home for the summer)! I don't have a rigorous to-read/to-watch/to-play list as I've had in the past for this break time, but I do have two major things to check off my list, and one of them is actually compiled of three subprojects: 1) I aim to finish reading the
Pendragon book series; I have just barely begun book seven out of ten, and they're very quick reads so that won't be difficult to do. They're fun because they're extremely imaginative, but in all honesty the writing is nothing spectacular. It's okay, though, and I'm never really banging my head against the wall with the simplicity of it (like I was with
The Hunger Games, for instance - or
Fifty Shades of Grey UGH KILL ME). 2) I have a trilogy of books to revise the snot out of! The first one has gotten a decent amount of revision over the past few years, but the other two are fairly fresh on my harddrive and desperately need a thorough wash-down. I plan to tackle and revise all three, hardcore ninja style. I learned a ton of helpful and somewhat gritty revision techniques from the advanced fiction writing class I took this past semester, and I plan to put them all into play with my trilogy. It it guaranteed to be a painful process at times, but I know after the major scrub-down-exfoliation, I will be even prouder of the books I have written. Mayhaps soonish they'll be put on the amazon self-publish market, we'll seeeeeeeee~!
I have the next three weeks of June and maybe three-ish weeks in August to complete these "two" projects. What about July, you ask? Well, I'm being a good little college student and taking two core classes for one of my majors in July to help my senior year not be so taxing and steam-roller-esque. (Side note: this time next year I will be a two-month-old college graduate and this terrifies me just as much as it excites me
) So for all of July I'll be focusing on my classes, which are back-to-back 8:30am to 1pm Monday thru Friday for four straight weeks. They're both higher level psych classes, too, so neither will be a walk in the park and my head will be buried in the textbooks. Needless to say, you will not see much of me during this time (not that you see much of me anyway haha whoops). Also the last week in July I'll be fulfilling vacation duties. Woot!
This summer has been busy pretty much as soon as I was officially done with my junior year, and it's looking to be busier still. So far, that's been okay, but we'll see about this July term. It's making me nervous, but I already have a good reputation with both of my professors and only have the two classes to focus on shouldn't be
that challenging. I hope. *gulp* The only thing that might just kill me is the 8:30am part. I'm not great at the whole waking up early thing. A coffee mug may very well be glued to my hand for the duration of the month.
In any case, I'm planning to at least post some teasers of the short stories I mentioned back in my spring break post a few months ago. Otherwise I might dig up some recent pictures to post, but unfortunately I haven't been snapping all that much lately. School just kinda takes over, you know? And then when I
do have free time, all I want to do is read, sleep, or maybe write. That's not really conducive for good photography.
Well, as always, thanks for caring if you do, sorry for being a journal dunce!
Toodle-loo!
